Simon’s postcards

Simon was the first person I interviewed for this project, back in 2003.

I asked him to tell me about the places he’d lived, loved and wanted to remember. Since we’re married, the home he talked about was closely familiar to me: a rented house we shared in Melbourne for almost a decade.

In return for telling me his stories, I gave Simon these postcards. (But not until recently, in October 2012.) They record fragments of our conversation from all those years ago – in his recorded words and in my memories.
